Annawan CUSD #226 will continue Early Dismissal Time: The start of the 2020-2021 school year has gone very well. It has been wonderful to have our students return to school and thank you for your support to help make this happen. We have made the decision to continue our early dismissal time of 1:50pm through the end of the second quarter (December 18, 2020). We appreciate everyone's commitment to help make in person instruction happen this semester. We ask that you continue to help the mitigation process as we combat COVID-19 together. Please continue to help make sure our students are wearing their face covering, washing their hands, maintaining social distance, and following the IDPH advice pertaining to possible symptoms. We will continue to do our best at Annawan CUSD #226 to provide a safe learning environment for everyone and appreciate your continued support!
The Village of Annawan has issued a boil order for the grade school tomorrow (9/29/20) as we take care of a water leak situation. We will have drinking water available, but please consider filling your child's water bottle before coming to school tomorrow. We will still be able to provide the regular scheduled lunch menu and will have working restrooms. We hope to discontinue the boil order on Wednesday morning after we receive our water test results. Thank you for your patience as we work through this situation.
K-12 Parent Teacher Conferences will be September 30 and October 1st this year from 3:45-7:15pm. Due to COVID-19 recommendations, we will be doing our conferences via phone or virtually. Teachers will be contacting parents to set up a conference, but feel free to contact your child's teacher as well to request a conference. Thank you for your continued support and partnership this school year!
HS students have been forwarded an email about class rings from Herff Jones. Their representative will not be visiting the school this year for sales. Visit their website if you would like more information. https://highschool.herffjones.com/secom/home
The Annawan School District has been given word from local law enforcement that we can discontinue our soft lock down. We will now continue our normal activities for the school day.

Due to the incident in Atkinson this morning, the local law enforcement has advised the Annawan School District to go on a "soft lockdown" as a precaution. Like always, we have all exterior doors locked and will keep students inside during PE and Recess. This precaution is to help ensure everyone's safety and we will notify you when we are cleared for normal activities.

Today’s (9/12) Junior High Baseball game with Monmouth ICS has been cancelled.
A MEMO FROM PHOTOGRAPHIC ARTS:
Photographic Arts has made arrangements for no contact school photography of the students and staff. There will not be order forms this year. Data cards will be used for each student. Teachers will send home a data card that will allow parents to view their students’ photos before they purchase them.
All orders will be done on-line and all packages will be sent directly to the home.
In the event the data card gets lost, parents can phone Photographic Arts at 309-762-6662 and we will assist you with ordering. Photos will be available for viewing in about a week or two.
Our photographers will wear a mask so they can still talk to each student while their photo is being taken. We will also have a sanitizer with us to keep everything clean and safe.
