Due to sickness and injuries, tonight's (1/16) game at Knoxville will be a varsity only game starting at 6:00.
A Big Thank You to the Annawan Athletic Boosters!
If you attended a home football game this past fall or have been to a home basketball or volleyball game recently, you’ve likely experienced our new sound systems. These upgrades were purchased and installed through the generous donations of the Annawan Athletic Boosters.
On behalf of the district, we are incredibly grateful for their continued support of our student-athletes and athletic programs. Their commitment enhances the game-day experience for our students, families, and community.
Be sure to come out and enjoy an upcoming game—and check out the new sound system while you’re there!

The IHSA schools have approved several by-law changes that will affect summer athletics and the 2026 athletic seasons.
Softball - practices may begin on Monday, February 23 and the first contest date is Monday, March 9. Games are allowed to be scheduled on or after March 9.
Starting in summer 2026, the IHSA will implement a mandatory statewide No-Contact Week each year during the Fourth of July Week. In 2026, this will run JUNE 29 - JULY 5. During this time, no school-related practices, competitions, open gyms, conditioning, or weight training may take place. As part of this change, the previous early August no-contact week has been eliminated.
The football playoffs have also been expanded by 16 teams per class, which will move week 1 of the football season up one week eliminating the week 0 scrimmage. The IHSA regulates minimum practice days before the first competition can take place, and it important to note that these changes will constrict the time frame athletes have to attain the minimum number of practices. Football practices will begin August 10 with week 1 games able to start August 20.
IHSA Fall practices will begin August 10.
Please keep these new dates in mind when scheduling summer activities.
Correction: The Annawan School District will hold its next Board of Education meeting on Wednesday, January 21 at 4:30 p.m. in Mrs. Huber’s classroom, located at the high school end of the building.
In addition to other agenda items, the Board will discuss and may take action on a request for consideration of a co-op with Wethersfield High School for girls’ basketball. There will be an opportunity for public input.
