FFA CHRISTMAS PRESENT WRAPPING NIGHTS ----- Tuesday December 19 and Wednesday December 20, bring your presents to the home basketball games! The FFA members will wrap your presents for you. Then you can pick them up after the game! -- WE PROVIDE THE WRAPPING PAPER!!!! -- Merry Christmas everyone!

The Annawan School District is seeking to hire (2) school secretaries to replace the retiring secretaries currently employed. The District is looking to replace the high school secretary as well as the elementary school secretary at the end of the ’23-’24 school year. However, these positions will be hired as soon as possible to begin on the job training with each. Each position has its own unique job description and duties but in general a person in these positions will need to be able to complete the following tasks: Keep and maintain student records. Complete and submit state required reports. Manage and maintain activity accounts. Prepare and manage student registration activities. Prepare game rosters and gate and concession cash boxes. Assist in the planning of transportation of students. Answer and direct phone calls to the appropriate offices. Keep and maintain weekly, monthly, and yearly school calendars. The District is looking for someone who works well with people and the public in general. Computer skills and knowledge of worksheets are preferable. Deadline for applications is December 30, 2023. Annawan School District is selling a 2003 Chevrolet C1500 Suburban. The Suburban has 303,479 miles. Anyone interested in purchasing the vehicle should drop off a sealed bid to the District office at 501 W. South St., Annawan ,Illinois. Bids will be accepted until 12:00pm on Dec. 22, 2023. Junior High Boys Basketball Updates: Just a reminder that tonight's (12/11) JHBBB game at Wethersfield starts at 5:00. The JHBBB game with R-W scheduled for Wednesday (12/13) has been rescheduled to Wednesday, January 3 at ROWVA 5:30 start time.

A tremendous thank you to all of you for supporting our annual food drive $$ collection! We had another fantastic year of giving! We raised a total amount of $1,393.59!! Our preschool-fifth grade students collected supplies. We will drop off all the items on Wednesday, December 13th.

ACES is having their annual Basket Raffle. Tickets are $1 each and sold by elementary and junior high students. Tickets will be sold today (12/7) through 12/19. The drawings will be held on Thursday, 12/21.

If you ordered a wreath, they are in! Please pick them up today from 12-2 or tomorrow morning from 8:15-noon. Please stop at the kindergarten entrance or door #2 and someone will be there to help you load them up.

Our annual K-5 Holiday Program will begin at 1:00 in the high school gym this Friday, December 1st! We hope to see everyone there. We would also love to see everyone at the HS/JH concert on Thursday, December 7th at 7:00. Please remember to send coats, gloves, and hats with your children as we will be going out for fresh air at recess! Boots and snow pants can be sent for playing in the snow as well! Junior High students will also be going out for lunch recess so please be prepared. Happy Holidays!

Junior Achievement is looking for volunteers for 2nd grade-5th grade in Annawan. Volunteering with Junior Achievement is fun and easy! The grade school programs are made up of five lessons of approximately 45 minutes each. Typically a volunteer goes to the classroom 1 day per week; the schedule is coordinated with the educator. JA provides all of the lesson plans and materials (games, videos, journals, etc) to make the sessions as interactive as possible. We provide a 30-minute training session for new volunteers which provides tips and tricks for being comfortable in the classroom. Educators are required to be in the classroom at all times and partner with the volunteers to ensure success.
