Junior High Boys Basketball - The game on Thursday, November 11 with Central will now be played in Annawan and will start at 6:00.

Halloween Parade Reminder-10:30 K-5 students will begin their parade out the front Grade School doors and walk down to the High School doors! Parents are welcome to get out of their cars and walk up the sidewalk and take pictures and watch the festivities! Happy Halloween from Annawan Grade School:)

IHSA Post-Season: The Bravettes are playing at the Ashton-Franklin Center Regional. Quarterfinal match vs Amboy Tuesday, October 26 5:30. Regional Semi-Finals are on Wednesday, October 27 6:30 with the Finals on Thursday, October 28 6:00. Cross Country: Three individuals have advanced to the Oregon Sectional on Saturday, October 30. Meet starts at 10:00. Congratulations to Danielle Johnson, Kennady Anderson, and Aiden Earley. Football: The Titans will face the Abingdon-Avon Tornadoes in the 1st Round of the IHSA playoffs on Friday, October 29. Game will be played in Abingdon with a 7:00 start time.

Annawan CUSD Veterans Day Ceremony Returns with Some Temporary Changes-- We will once again be inviting Veterans and their families to join us in person for a Veterans Day Ceremony on Thursday, November 11 at 9:00 a.m. in the High School Gym. Mr. Creston Fenn will be our speaker. We will offer a self-serve breakfast and coffee for Veterans and their families at 8:30. In order to help with social distancing, only students participating in the performance will be in the gym, the rest of the students will watch the live stream in their classrooms. Veterans are welcome to stop in the office on their arrival or send a note with students and their children and grandchildren may come to the gym and sit with them during the ceremony. We look forward to returning to our normal format next year.

During the week of October 25-29, Annawan Schools will celebrate Red Ribbon Week to encourage students to make safe and healthy choices.

Junior High Halloween Donations: To celebrate the end of a successful first quarter and the many positive contributions and behavior of our Junior High Students, we will be hosting a Junior High Halloween Party on October 29th! The library team would like to thank the school & community for a very successful book fair. They have surpassed their goal ($6,000) by selling over $7,500 in total sales! The parents also generously donated 60 books for teachers. We love the supportive and generous Annawan community!!

Updated Covid Protocol: Thank you for your partnership in helping keep our school a safe place to learn. Our district works closely with the local Health Department, the Office of Emergency Management, and the Illinois Department of Public Health to keep our school running efficiently with all safety procotocols in place. Close contacts are defined as an individual not fully vaccinated who was within 6 feet of an infected person for a cumulative total of 15 minutes or more in a 24-hour period. A student who was within 3-6 feet of a confirmed or probable case in a classroom setting is not a close contact if they were consistently masked. Our district has implemented many safety measures to try to eliminate as many close contacts as possible. However due to circumstances beyond our control, such as transportation, we cannot always maintain the 3 foot social distancing. Under these circumstances, contact tracing could still occur within the school district. Please understand our health and safety is important to the Annawan School District and we thank you for cooperation as always!

Thanks to a very generous anonymous donation, all staff members at school will receive a free drink from COWS Coffee this Friday, September 24th. The coffee trailer will be set up outside near the Ag Shop and will serve from 7:30-11:00am. High School students and community members are also welcome to purchase a drink. Thank you to the community members who helped make this day happen.
