The Annawan School District will be hiring a new custodian and bus driver for the 2022-2023 school year. The candidate will be paid for approximately 40 hours per week (combined custodian and bus driver duties). This opening is a result of an upcoming retirement and would begin as early as June 1, 2022. Substitute Teachers Needed  If you have an Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree you are most likely eligible for a substitute teaching certificate in Illinois. Your degree does not have to be in education or a related field. o Contact the ROE (309) 936-7890 for more information.  Work only the days you choose, and never work a night or weekend!  Great supplemental income for seasonal workers or workers who get laid off part of the year. o If you are a worker who receives unemployment, according to IDES, if you earned less than 50% of your weekly benefit amount, you can receive your full amount of unemployment insurance benefits for that week. (Please verify this independently for your specific situation.)  If you have kids in school, you can work on their schedule.  It’s a good way to explore an interest in teaching.  Annawan Schools currently pay substitute teachers $97.50 per day with a raise to $103 per day after 15 days of work in a school year.  It’s nothing like the movies! The students and employees are great to work with. HANDBOOK POLICY REMINDER FOR HS SEMESTER EXAMS Dec 20th and 21st: during semester exams, campus will be open for all high school students. Students are responsible for knowing their exam schedule and attending on time. Exams must be taken at the scheduled time and may not be rearranged unless there are extenuating circumstances approved by administration. Students who do not show up for a final exam will be considered unexcused and given a grade of zero for that exam. Students who want school lunch on exam days will also be responsible for providing lunch count before the day exams start. Open campus should be considered a privilege and may be withheld for students as a part of disciplinary action.
