Update

Dear Annawan School District Community,

Being able to come back to my hometown six years ago and contribute again to the Annawan School District has been like a dream come true.  We have seen a lot of success in our academics, athletics, and extra-curricular activities and I am so thankful to be part of these achievements that we have accomplished together.  We have one of the best schools in the state and I am looking forward to my daughters graduating from Annawan High School someday.  But with that being said, I have made the decision to resign as superintendent effective June 30, 2022 so I can be able to help my family more.

I would like to thank the Annawan Board of Education, staff, students, and community for your support during my tenure serving the Annawan School District.  Through hard work, dedication, and working together we have continued to make sure we have one of the best school districts in the State of Illinois.

It has been a privilege and an honor to serve Annawan CUSD #226 and I wish the district nothing but success for years to come.

Sincerely,

Superintendent Matt Nordstrom

On behalf of the Annawan School Board, President Jerad Heitzler shared the following statement:

“The Annawan CUSD #226 School Board regretfully accepts Superintendent Matt Nordstrom’s resignation effective June 30, 2022.  Mr. Nordstrom served our students, staff, parents, and community well for the past six years, but has chosen to leave his position.  The board will begin a search immediately with the help of Mr. Nordstrom and the administration to find the next superintendent.”
