Last week the Annawan 226 Board of Education held training with the Illinois Association of School Boards.  In this workshop, district board members and I learned about the importance of clarifying district purpose as well as the expectations, roles and responsibilities of being on school boards.  We also discussed and reviewed agreements on how the district board operates.  This workshop will help ensure that current board members continue to govern the district, in order to reach its high expectations.

Board work is often thankless, misunderstood, and at times challenging.  However, it can also be highly rewarding in the service the work provides to the community, students and staff.  If you are ever interested in serving on the board, please contact me.  It is important work and highly functioning boards are critical to district success.

The Annawan CUSD 226 school community is served well.  You have an effective, thorough and thoughtful board.  I am pleased and proud to serve the members of the school communities alongside the Board of Education.
